Hack the Valley 2025: Frostbyte Edition Code of Conduct

Hack the Valley 2025 is dedicated to providing a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all participants, regardless of background, experience, or skill level. This Code of Conduct outlines our expectations to ensure a positive and productive event for everyone.


1. Be Respectful

  • Treat all participants, mentors, sponsors, and staff with respect.
  • Harassment, discrimination, or offensive behavior of any kind is strictly prohibited.
  • This includes inappropriate language, imagery, or conduct in both online and in-person interactions.

2. Foster Inclusivity

  • Celebrate diversity by welcoming people of all races, genders, sexual orientations, religions, disabilities, and backgrounds.
  • Avoid assumptions about others’ experiences or abilities.
  • Encourage and support newcomers to technology and hackathons.

3. Collaborate Ethically

  • Maintain integrity in your work. Do not plagiarize, cheat, or sabotage others’ projects.
  • Respect intellectual property and clearly attribute any external resources you use.

4. Protect Privacy

  • Respect the privacy of all participants. Do not share personal information, photos, or project details without permission.
  • Avoid recording or streaming others without their consent.

5. Stay Professional

  • Avoid disruptive behavior that might detract from the hackathon experience.
  • Refrain from spamming, soliciting, or sharing inappropriate content in Discord or other event spaces.

6. Report Issues Promptly

  • If you witness or experience any violations of this Code of Conduct, report it to event staff immediately.
  • Reports will be handled confidentially, and appropriate action will be taken.

7. Follow Event Rules

  • Adhere to all event rules, guidelines, and instructions from staff and mentors.
  • Respect the facilities, equipment, and tools provided for the event.

8. Have Fun and Innovate!

  • Hack the Valley is a space for creativity, learning, and collaboration. Embrace the spirit of the event by exploring new ideas and working as a team.

Enforcement

Participants found in violation of this Code of Conduct may face consequences, including removal from the event and revocation of access to event resources or prizes.
